Design - Phase 1 : Conceptualization
Application of the design process for the creation of a new product that is unique, with no similarity to any product currently produced.
The conceptualization step in the design process includes a process defined by the following subset of steps.

- Removal of Artificial limits and boundaries

- Brainstorming
- Design Selection
- Design acceptance
Design - Phase 2 : Synthesis
Processing of the previous conceptualization to achieve design enrichment.
The synthesis step in the design process includes a process defined by the following subset of actions.
- specification of Material
- Addition of geometry features
- Dimensional detail
Design - Phase 3 : Analysis
Studying a single design or several alternative solutions using mathematical and other scientific procedures
Design - Phase 4 : Evaluation
Checking the design against the original specifications
Design - Phase 5 : Documentation
Presentation of the Design.
The documentation step in the design process commonly includes the following subset of deliverables.
- Creation of all necessary product and part views in the form of working drawings and detail and assembly drawings.
- Additional design details, such as standard components, special manufacturing notes, and all dimensions and tolerances.
- Creation of required engineering documents, such as part number assignment, detailed part specifications, design bill of materials (BOM), and a part and part number where-used list.
- Creation of product electronic data fields shared by the following departments: manufacturing planning and control, production engineering, marketing, and quality control.
